Vumatel announced that they will provide free uncapped 1GBPS fibre to every school that they pass while they deploy their network. So far they have successfully conducted the project with three schools: Parkhurst Primary, Greenside High and Hoerskool Linden. Vumatel said that the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
Each school will be provided with a dedicated 1GBPS line and will have the freedom to choose from a range of internet service providers for free uncapped internet connectivity.
Vox Telecoms, Cool Ideas and Cell C are on board with the project with others set to join the initiative soon. Vumatel aims to provide free high speed connectivity to approximately 80 schools in 2016.
