A few days ago, Telkom announced that they would be releasing their Smart Broadband Uncapped High Speed Wireless packages to provinces throughout South Africa. These packages focus on select LTE base stations, with an original phase being extended to residents of Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West and Western Cape provinces. The new phase was released on 1st of December 2015.
Since the initial release of these packages to Gauteng in June 2015, they have been a big hit, and this is the reason for the packages now being released in other South African areas, making it a national offer.
How does pricing work?
Prices for these packages start at R599 on a 24-month contract, with an antenna and installation by Telkom technicians at no additional cost as part of the promotional offer.
According to Telkom, The introductory offer will start at R599 for the first 50 customers online, R699 for the second 50 and R799 for the final 50 available packages at each base station. Telkom’s SmartBroadband Uncapped High Speed Wireless service means uncapped data for all traffic types which Is a major advantage. Promotional packages will however be capped at 150 per base station according to the company. The reason for this, is to ensure a high quality customer experience with the service. Telkom also noted that normal fair usage policies will be applied.

Telkom SA has also indicted that only 150 spots would be available per base station and that customers who sign up after those spots are already taken would be added to a waiting list.
